ABOUT NUALA HAFNER

A natural performer and communicator, Nuala's bright and engaging personality has made her a favourite with television audiences for over a decade.

Nuala is the Melbourne Correspondent for Australia's most popular breakfast television shows Sunrise, Weekend Sunrise and The Morning Show. This follows a year of roaming the globe as the Entertainment Editor, securing interviews with some of world's most famous faces. Prior to that she spent two and half years in London as the UK/Europe Correspondent covering everything from Austria's House of Horrors to the Cannes Film Festival.

Nuala grew up performing in theatre, but began her television career in 1997 when she was chosen to co-present The Bookplace, an award-winning preschool program. She quickly caught the attention of news executives and in 1998 was asked to present the weather for South Australia's top-rating Seven News. Her role was further expanded when she became a reporter on Discover a travel and lifestyle show.

In 2003 Nuala transferred to Channel Seven Sydney to join their popular travel and lifestyle show Sydney Weekender and by the end of the year had teamed up with Ian Ross and Matthew White to form the new Sydney and Canberra Seven News team. Nuala became a favourite with viewers with her lively location weather reports and hourly news updates.

Further a field, Nuala was chosen by Qantas to present their in-flight destination guides filmed on location in New York and Los Angeles. She also filmed live reports from Alaska and Canada for Sunrise.

Nuala is a qualified lawyer and a trained actor. She completed a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws in 2000 and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2001. She studied at the Flinders Drama Centre, a full-time acting course, from 1996-98. Nuala has been delighted to return to the stage from time to time including playing the lead role of Gerda in the Sydney Theatre production of The Snow Queen.
